A new and important recognition for the Bolgheri winery.
Michele Satta, renowned winery in Bolgheri, has just received an excellent score for one of its wines: Vinous gave 97 points to Marianova 2018.
Marianova was born as the first experience of the second Satta generation, a blend in equal parts of the best Syrah and Sangiovese grapes.
In the Vignanova vineyard, the grapes that have most marked Michele Satta’s Bolgheri experience are harvested, assembling a blend that is unprecedented for this area: Marianova is the first Bolgheri Superiore that does not have any Bordeaux grapes in the blend.
Through Syrah and Sangiovese, the aim is to express all the brilliance and harmony of this Mediterranean place, which knows how to give wines of very rare depth and complexity without relying on concentration and layering.
Marianova has a ruby red colour and a broad, rich bouquet, with hints of small red fruits, vegetal notes and hints of spices and tobacco. On the palate it is full-bodied, round, with well-integrated tannins and a long persistence.
