A wine from the Campania winery has been awarded by Decanter.
Recently Villa Raiano, a renowned winery from Campania, received an excellent score for one of its wines: Decanter awarded 93 points to Taurasi 2016.
Full-bodied and intense, Taurasi DOCG is a great classic of Campania winemaking, masterfully interpreted by the Villa Raiano cellars. The love for tradition blends with a modern and international vision in this young and dynamic winery.
This wine is made from Aglianico grapes, the leading vine in Campania’s millennial winemaking history. Its berries, with their thick pruinose skin, macerate for about 25 days before fermentation and long ageing. It takes at least 36 months, 16 of which in barriques, for the wine to develop its complex aromas and achieve the round, harmonious and enveloping flavour that characterises it.
The Taurasi has clean aromas of ripe red fruit and delicate floral notes that inebriate the nose. It is a wine of extraordinary character and excellent structure, which fascinates with its warm and dry taste and its robust, pleasant and elegant tannins.
