VALLEBELBO HAS RECEIVED AN IMPORTANT AWARD

A wine from the Piedmontese winery has been awarded by Decanter.

Recently Vallebelbo, an important winery in Piedmont, received an excellent score for one of its wines: Decanter awarded 95 points to Cesare Pavese Alta Langa Brut 2018.

The wine was created as a tribute to the writer Cesare Pavese, a native of Santo Stefano Belbo, for whom there has always been a strong and indissoluble bond. In his stories, in fact, he often refers to his beloved hills and vineyards full of prized grapes, in which peasant stories are woven. Alta Langa Brut originates from 100% Pinot Noir grapes.

The grapes are pressed softly and only the heart of the must is used for production; this is fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Selected yeasts, necessary for the second fermentation in the bottle, are then added to the base wine. Finally, it is matured for at least 30 months in temperature-controlled air-conditioned rooms.

Cesare Pavese Alta Langa Brut presents a straw yellow colour, with fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet is intense and complex, with hints of toasted dried fruit and bread crust. The palate is full and enveloping with good flavour and structure.
