A new winery has entered our portfolio.
It’s official: the Tenuta di Bibbiano winery is an integral part of our portfolio.
Tenuta di Bibbiano is located in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti, on the west border of the Chianti Classico appellation. Its territory represents one of the most romantic and iconic landscapes of Tuscany, a gorgeous combination of soft hills of 200-300 mt high separated by small valleys, with vineyards and olive groves fragmented by open field of grain and small woods.
Tenuta di Bibbiano is famous and it is known be one of the most traditional and authentic producer in Chianti Classico. Already a cellar in the middle age, today’s owners are the brothers Tommaso and Federico Marrocchesi Marzi, the fifth generation of Marzi family who runs Bibbiano from the mid of ‘800.
Bibbiano shares its history with a legend of the ‘modern’ Chianti Classico, Mr Giulio Gambelli: he was an oenologist ‘ante-litteram’, who dedicated all his life to improve the Sangiovese, combining science and art, experience and intuition, vision and experimentation. Starting in 1942 and for almost sixty harvesting Giulio Gambelli created Bibbiano’ wines and his heritage is part of Bibbiano’s vision.
Today the estate extends over more 200 hectares of land with 37 hectares of vineyards, certified organic farming and planted predominantly with grapes of Sangiovese. On minority there are also the autochthone grapes of Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera, Colorino as well as some white vines of Trebbiano and Malvasia Bianca del Chianti.
We are sure that this collaboration will bring great satisfaction and excellent results.
