TECHNICAL PARTNER OF THE FIRST EDITION OF VENTIMIGLIA WINE MASTERCLASSES

On 13 and 14 May, Italy’s and the world’s finest wines will be the stars of two masterclasses led by Presenter and Wine Educator Cristina Mercuri DipWSET.

The excellence of wine will be on stage in Marina di Ventimiglia on 13 and 14 May with the first edition of “Ventimiglia Wine Masterclass” as part of Oltre il Cibo, a cultural and food and wine event scheduled from May to September. Dedicated to the tasting of wines that are the expression of excellence in the world, the two events will be led by the talented Presenter and Wine Educator Cristina Mercuri DipWSET. A leader in wine, spirits and sake training and one of the 10,000 people in the world with a DipWSET diploma, Mercuri has chosen the six types of classic method sparkling wines and reds that will make up the two super-tastings scheduled in the upper city, in the central Via Garibaldi, at the former Bucaniere restaurant.

The first masterclass, scheduled for Friday 13 May at 6 pm, will be dedicated to “Sparkling Wines” with a special selection of the world’s most famous bubbles. From Italy to France, passing through Spain and South Africa, Cristina Mercuri will guide guests in a blind tasting to enhance and discover the most emblematic sparkling wines in their respective territories. The tasting will range from a Trento DOC Balter Riserva to a Champagne Pierre Peters Vintage, from a Franciacorta Barone Pizzini Bagnadore Riserva to a Champagne Philipponnat Clos de Goisses, from the Spanish Corpinnat Recaredo Vintage to the South African CAP Classique Simonsig.

Entitled “Red in Summer”, the second masterclass, also scheduled for Saturday 14 May at 6 pm, will be aimed at debunking the commonplace “white in summer and red in winter”. The selected labels, supplied thanks to the support of Edoardo Freddi International – Italy’s leading export management company in the wine sector – will allow visitors to appreciate a range of delicate and refined reds, also perfect for accompanying summer menus: an all-Italian journey with bottles of Sanct Valentin Pinot Noir San Michele Appiano, Cigognola Barbera Dodicidodici, Nebbiolo Roccheri Marchesi Di Barolo, Rosso di Montalcino Madonna Nera, Palmento Costanzo Contrada Santo Spirito Pt 464 and Hauner Hierà.
