A new winery has joined our portfolio.

It is official: the Veneto winery Serre is part of our portfolio.

Serre di Pederiva is a family-run winery located in the heart of the prosecco D.O.C.G. Conegliano Valdobbiadene production area (D.O.C. G. is the highest quality level of Prosecco, produced in an area limited to 15 municipalities between Valdobbiadene and Conegliano). For over 60 years the Pederiva family has personally worked and cared for the vineyards, in keeping with the tradition of a place that has always been dedicated to the cultivation of vines: the “Rive di Combai”.

The company works the steep vineyards exclusively by hand, with the same ancient method used for generations. Working a vineyard in these conditions is a magnificent but difficult task, full of sacrifices. During the grape harvest, and in all other operations, workers must climb to great and difficult heights to get the grapes to transport and maintain the vineyards.

The Serre company, in line with the growing consumer demand for constant controls in terms of the quality of the product supplied, has chosen since 2012 to embark on the path of certification with two important standards underpinning food safety, initially with the IFS standard and later with the BRC standard.

The vineyards follow the rules of Sustainable Agriculture. Serre uses cultivation techniques that respect the environment, biodiversity, workers’ health and the wholesomeness of the products. It does not use chemical-based fertilisers but only organic ones and only when deemed necessary. It only uses one insecticide treatment per year with selected products, as required by local law.
