It’s official: the Perticaia winery is an integral part of our portfolio.
Perticaia is the word with which, in the archaic language of Umbria, the plough is called, the tool that marks the transition from sheep farming to agriculture, more than any other. Perticaia is an organic winery that has an exclusive clonal selection for Trebbiano Spoletino and researches and interprets an elegant style in its classic Montefalco Rosso DOC and Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG.
The winery is located in Casale di Montefalco and here there are the 34 hectares of vineyards owned by the Becca family, successful entrepreneurs in Luxembourg who have returned to invest in their homeland. This is the starting point for the conversion of the late 1990s project of the winery spread over several annexes and transformed today into a more modern structure, perfectly integrated into the surrounding environment.
Every production step is aimed at enhancing what the land and the course of the season are able to imprint in the donated fruit and thus the expression of the varietal. A winery capable of producing wines of great expressiveness and elegance, to be discovered one by one, to get in touch with Umbria and with those that are the most representative grape varieties of the Montefalco area.
