The well-known Sicilian winery received an excellent score for one of its wines.
The prestigious Wine Enthusiast magazine gave an excellent score to a wine from the Sicilian winery Palmento Costanzo: 93 points to Contrada Cavaliere Etna Bianco Doc 2020.
Contrada Cavaliere is a Sicilian white of undoubted personality and it could not be otherwise, considering the Palmento Costanzo winery’s approach to viticulture. Indeed, the winery has always been attentive to absolute respect for varietals and lets nature guide each vintage with sincerity.
The grapes are harvested strictly by hand during the first few days of October; this is followed by a soft pressing and fermentation in steel using indigenous yeasts. The production process then ends with an ageing period of 12 months in steel and tonneaux.
This Etna Bianco has a classic straw colour, not too intense, and a citrus bouquet with mineral hints and notes reminiscent of the Mediterranean maquis. On the palate it has a slender, agile mouthfeel, characterised by a fresh, savoury flavour.
