The St. Michael-Eppan winery in recent days has obtained a really important recognition: James Suckling awarded 96 points Appius 2016.
Appius 2016 reflects an extraordinary vintage, with perfect ripening of the grapes, thanks to what will be remembered as the “Golden September”. The assembly of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon gives a complex and mineral wine. With a very pleasant acidity, great balance and elegance, the 2016 Appius vintage is endowed with prodigious length.
It is an intense and direct wine; the nose perceives aromatic herbs on one side and floral fragrances on the other. In a second moment the fruity component is specified: fruits with white pulp and exotic fruits on the side. On the palate it is balanced and fresh with great minerality and long persistence.
