A new winery has entered our portfolio.
It’s official: the Tuscan winery Michele Satta is an integral part of our portfolio.
Michele Satta is a winery that was founded in Castegneto Carducci in 1983, the year before the foundation of the Bolgheri DOC. Its founder was the first to bring Syrah, Teroldego, and Viognier to this area and to vinify Vermentino and Sangiovese in purity. In addition to Piastraia and the classic Bolgheri wines, Michele Satta decided to produce wines that were the expression of individual grape varieties: “Cavaliere”, 100% Sangiovese; “Syrah” 100% Syrah and “Giovin Re”, 100% Viognier. The mission of the winery is to express the uniqueness of these fascinating products that are born from a very precise territory, a very precise vineyard and a man who relates to them.
The winery is family-run, with a stable size of 23 hectares, and currently produces about 150,000 bottles, all obtained from grapes grown on the estate.
The peculiarity of the Bolgheri DOC, established in 1984, lies in the fact that it includes an area of soil facing the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west and which remains surrounded by hills on the other cardinal points, just as a theatre looks at the stage.
We are sure that this collaboration will bring great satisfaction and excellent results.
