The well-known winery from Campania has received an excellent score for one of its wines.
Recently Montevetrano, a prestigious winery from Campania, obtained another great result. One of its wines was awarded by Gilbert & Gaillard: the Montevetrano 2019 received 92 points.
Montevetrano is a deep and elegant wine that speaks, in a modern way, of its land to the world. The estate is located a few kilometres from Salerno, in the village of San Cipriano Picentino. The soil is of medium texture, silty.
Montevetrano is a red wine IGT Colli di Salerno, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Aglianico and Merlot. It has a ruby red colour, intense and concentrated. The nose has hints of berries, violet, blackberry and black cherry. The spiciness is recalled by notes of liquorice, cinnamon, chocolate, mint and tobacco; it varies according to the years and the ageing process. The interplay of tannins, acidity and wood makes the wine beautifully elegant, as any young wine with ageing potential can be, transforming elegance into sensual concentration. It is a very distinctive wine that can age for ten or more years in the bottle.
