EXCELLENT SCORE FOR MOTTURA

The well-known Puglia winery recently received 98 points for one of its wines.

In one of Luca Maroni‘s latest tastings, a wine from the Mottura winery was tasted and reviewed by the expert wine critic. The wine in question is Stilio 2020 which received 98 points.

Stilio is a wine made from selected grapes in low-yield vineyards in the Manduria area. Part of the grapes used to make this wine undergoes a slight drying on the vine: this allows the aromas to be concentrated before harvesting, thanks to the slight dehydration and consequent loss of water of around 20-30%.

The label is a reference to the ancient Salento cultural tradition of the taranta, rediscovered in recent years: a stylised diadem spider on a black field. The symbolism of the spider, of the ‘taranta’, whose bite generates the need for dance, music and colours, in a cathartic effect, is important. Liberating emotions that even the taste of this wine could evoke.

This wine has an intense red colour with purple hues and an austere bouquet of jammy red fruits, morello cherries, dried plums. Tertiary hints of vanilla and cloves can also be perceived. On the palate, Stilio has a velvety, full and harmonious taste.
