The winery from Emilia Romagna has received an excellent award for one of its wines.
In the last edition of the Berliner Wein Trophy 2022 the winery from Emilia Romagna, Tenuta Pederzana, received an important award: the gold medal for Puntamora 2020.
Puntamora is a supple wine with very important extract and body. The harvest takes place in the last days of October, with 10% of the grapes dried on the vine for about 10 days after the vine shoot is cut. Vinification is carried out without added sulphites, with a 7-day maceration on the skins. After the first fermentation, the wine is aged for at least 8 months in cement vats, followed by the second fermentation and a long cold period (3-4 months) to naturally clarify the wine and obtain a fine and persistent perlage perfectly integrated in the wine.
This wine has an intense ruby red colour with violet flashes and a broad bouquet ranging from ripe cherries to wild blackberries, ending in a clear memory of California plums. In spite of its soft presence on the palate, it always ends up dry with a very sweet final tannicity that makes the wine very versatile in cooking.
