Recently Cascina Chicco, a renowned winery in Piedmont, received an excellent score for one of its wines: Decanter awarded 91 points to Barbera d’Alba Bric Loira 2019.

This wine is made from Barbera grapes from the commune of Castellinaldo. Harvesting takes place when phenolic maturity has been reached; maceration follows, which is carried out in Rotomacerators, i.e. steel containers that, through the action of rotation, ensure that the marc is always equally divided in the must.  This is followed by ageing in small wooden barrels for about 12 months.  After bottling, a period of bottle ageing follows.

Barbera d’Alba Bric Loira has a ruby red colour and a rich, sumptuous and enveloping bouquet with a pronounced note of red fruit, vanilla and liquorice. On the palate it is rich, powerful and with great structure. Surprising is its elegance that caresses the mouth at length, recalling plum jam and ripe grapes.
