The new project by Abbona family.

The first historical mention of Cascina Bruciata with references to the Cru of Rio Sordo and the elegance of its wines dates back to 1879.
In 2016 the property was acquired by Abbona family, a choice in continuity with the vision of the ancestor Pietro Abbona. He was the one who acquired the Antiche Cantine Marchesi di Barolo in 1929, lighting a passion for wine culture that has been passed down from generation to generation. Today Davide and Valentina proudly hold the baton, with their energies focused on tomorrow, on those who will come after and on the next, great challenges.
The terroir of Barbaresco is nestled in southern Piedmont, on the right bank of the Tanaro River, not far from the Maritime Alps. This Langhe has marine origins (the basin is the tertiary Ligurian Piedmontese basin), which with its hills, river and mountains gives the climate and soils unique features.
Love for their roots, tradition in the future, respect for the places where they live and work: values are clear and reflect the philosophy of Cascina Bruciata. Theirs is a path of research and passion, aimed at the pleasure of sharing openly with the world, transcending borders.
Good practices in the vineyard are the natural preamble for the Cascina Bruciata wine project: a production of excellence, limited edition. In the harvest, the best bunches are rigorously selected, then working with slightly reduced temperatures to preserve all the potential aromatic profile, and with longer macerations to obtain the maximum extraction of polyphenolic compounds. The aim is to get the most out of grapes from vinification and the balanced use of different woods.
The wines that distinguish Cascina Bruciata are Barbaresco Rio Sordo Docg, Barbaresco Rio Sordo Riserva Docg and Langhe Nebbiolo Usignolo Doc.
