A wine from the Abruzzo winery has been awarded a silver medal by Decanter.
Casal Thaulero, a renowned winery from Abruzzo, recently received an excellent score for one of its wines: Decanter awarded 90 points (silver medal) to Duca Thaulero Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva Doc 2016.
Duca Thaulero is named after Duke Giovanni Thaulero, the forerunner of viticulture in Abruzzo. The production of this wine retraces three hundred years of winemaking tradition with the intention of introducing the true essence of Abruzzo wines. The grape variety used for its production is Montepulciano; the area of cultivation and production is the vocated one, indicated by the DOP of Abruzzo.
Duca Thaulero Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva has an intense red colour, predominantly purple, with broad and deep violet reflections. The nose has a broad and complex yet elegant bouquet, with hints of berries, spices and leather. The taste is absolutely full, harmonious, balanced, pleasantly tannic and persistent.
