The well-known Sardinian winery received an excellent score in the Essential Guide to Italian Wines 2022.
The well-known Sardinian winery Capichera has been included in the Essential Guide to Italian Wines 2022 by Doctor Wine: the Vermentino VT 2018 wine obtained 96 points.
Capichera’s Vermentino VT is a unique wine of its kind; in fact the grapes are harvested late, when each bunch is full of sugars and olfactory components, in order to give the wine greater complexity.
This comes from Vermentino grapes, a typical Sardinian variety, used in purity. The vines grow in the plots located near Arzachena and the harvest, as anticipated before, is carried out late, selecting only the qualitatively perfect bunches. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18 degrees for about a month. Before final bottling, it is aged in oak barrels for a total of 4 months.
Vermentino VT has a straw yellow color with an interesting
bouquet, alternating floral notes with references to the Mediterranean scrub.
On the palate there is a mineral and citrus taste; it ends with a long and
caressing finish, with good palatal persistence.
