Another important recognition for the well-known Sardinian winery.
In recent days the Sardinian winery, Sa Raja, has received an excellent award for one of its wines: Berebene e Le Migliori Enoteche d’Italia 2022 by Gambero Rosso has in fact awarded the quality/price prize to Vermentino di Sardegna 2020.
Sa Raja’s Vermentino is a symbolic label of Sardinia, made from the most important and widespread white grape variety on the island. Its fruity aromas, its harmonious and balanced taste, characterised by a typical marine flavour, make it a perfect wine to accompany a seafood menu.
The white Vermentino by Sa Raja is the most representative wine of this young winery, which is located in the centre of the Gallura region in the northern part of Sardinia. The estate covers a beautiful hilly area in the area of Telti and Calangianus, with vines cultivated at an altitude of around 500 metres above sea level, on soils consisting of sand generated by the disintegration of granite rocks. The climate is hot and dry, always very windy due to the constant presence of the Mistral, which often blows violently from the north-west. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are pressed very softly and the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about two weeks. Before bottling, the wine matures for a few months in stainless steel tanks.
This wine has a very bright light yellow colour and an intense and rich bouquet, with floral notes and aromas of ripe fruit. The taste is ample and harmonious, with a soft and expressive fruit, well balanced by a savoury finish and good freshness.
