In recent days, the new vintage of the iconic wine from the St. Michael Eppan winery was presented: the 2018 vintage of Appius was released.
The most ambitious representation of the vintage, so each year the most prestigious cuvée is renewed through the vision of Kellermeister Hans Terzer. The 2018 vintage allowed for the ideal ripening of each individual grape variety, so the aromas and drinkability of Appius 2018 are enhanced like an unparalleled dance, in a truly exciting sensory experience.
This wine presents an intense, energetic and deep bouquet, with hints of exotic fruit (banana, melon, mango), Williams pear, white peach, rennet apple, white currant and gooseberry. On the palate, it offers freshness, drinkability, character and recognisability. A perception of warmth envelops the palate, rounding off the otherwise pungent combination of acidity and savouriness.
