ALTURIS AWARDED BY LUCA MARONI

The Friuli winery recently received an excellent score for one of its wines.

The Friuli winery Alturis has recently obtained an excellent result: Luca Maroni tasted and awarded the 2021 vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon with an impressive 96 points.

Cabernet Sauvignon is a soft, fresh red wine produced in the Colli Orientali del Friuli area. It is obtained from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from vineyards located on hills at different altitudes and trained using the single-caplever and French guyot methods on soils known locally as ‘ponca’, characterised by soils composed of sandy and marly stratifications.

This wine is made from carefully selected grapes harvested exclusively by hand in the last week of September. The bunches, brought to the cellar, are destemmed and gently crushed before alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with frequent daily pumping over and maceration on the skins for a few weeks. The wine is then racked and pressed, after which it matures in Slavonian oak barrels for a few months before being bottled and ready for release.

The Cabernet Sauvignon has an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections and a delicate bouquet with hints of plum, morello cherry, violet and black pepper, enveloped by pleasant cocoa sensations. The palate is pleasant, easy-going and with elegant tannins.
