The renowned Sicilian winery has been honoured by The Wine Hunter.
The Wine Hunter has given an excellent score to a wine from the Hauner winery: platinum medal to Malvasia Delle Lipari Passito Selezione Carlo Hauner 2019.
Malvasia delle Lipari Passito Selezione Carlo Hauner is the result of a careful selection of the best grapes, whose vinification and subsequent maturation take place in barriques. This is how a wine with very few equals in intensity and breadth is born, a marvellous example of what the type can express in terms of depth and longevity. It is an elegant and very long wine.
The Malvasia delle Lipari Passito Selezione has a great lustre, a true golden yellow-green. Excellent texture with rich, tight, heavy arches. Exemplary nose, the vinification and ageing in wood have developed impressive tertiary aromas. There is a clear note of honey and overripe apricots. Mouth fine and enveloping, almost salty. Perfect balance with an almondy, persistent finish.
