TWO MEDALS FOR CALATRONI

Recently the Oltrepò Pavese winery received two Wine Hunter medals.

In recent days the Oltrepò Pavese winery, Calatroni, was awarded by Wine Hunter Merano: it received the gold medal for Pinot 64 Metodo Classico 2017 and the red medal for NorEma Metodo Classico Rosé 2018.

Pinot 64 is a classic method sparkling wine, with good structure and persistence. It comes from pinot noir grapes harvested at different altitudes and grown on calcareous soils. The harvest is carried out in advance in order to obtain fresh and fragrant notes. After bottling and refermentation, the wine rests on its lees for at least 30 months.

This wine has a straw yellow color with golden reflections; fine and persistent pérlage. The nose has an intense bouquet with fruity aromas and hints of bread crust. On the palate it has good structure, remarkable freshness and aromatic persistence.

Rosé NorEma is an elegant and refined Classic Method Millesimato, dedicated to those who prefer purity and a dry and clear sip. This wine always spends at least 30 months on the lees and best expresses the territoriality and elegance of the grape, Pinot Noir. Thanks to very ripe grapes and a long pause sur lattes, the wine reaches a perfect expressive harmony.

In the glass it has a beautiful light pink color, almost pale, with luminous and brilliant reflections. This is the result of a maceration from draining obtained only in the press without subsequent contact between the peel and the must during fermentation. The nose ranges from balsamic to small red fruits; a delicate and fine bouquet. On the palate, however, it has a good structure, with a rich and intense fruit and a creamy and long sip, which closes on fresh and savory notes.
