EDOARDO FREDDI INTERNATIONAL FOR WINE COUTURE

The well-known online newspaper reports on the results achieved in 2022, writes about the team, the new wineries that have joined the portfolio and the goals for 2023.

With a managed turnover of 80 million euros and 33 million bottles sold, Edoardo Freddi International is consolidating its growth in 2022: a constant trend that has not stopped since 2012, the year in which it was founded, and which is now the leading Italian export management company in the wine sector, with 3,000 customers all over the world, including companies, importers and distributors. The result has confirmed expectations and objectives for the year just gone by, thanks also to several markets that have proved to be particularly performing: from Canada to Russia, passing through Thailand, China, Vietnam, Israel, Greece and Malta. And in this beginning of 2023, other wineries will enter the portfolio for the group based in Castiglione delle Stiviere (Mantua).

2022 has been a year of real growth for Edoardo Freddi International, with an expansion of the team that has allowed for more capillary action at an international level thanks to the addition of five new salespeople, one of whom is entirely dedicated to business development in the most remote markets.

A team that this year, in order to contribute to improving the value of the wine industry, will be involved, over the next few months, in an important training activity – through dedicated courses and masterclasses held by Cristina Mercuri – to develop a unique and shared approach useful to consolidate the company’s success and enhance the excellence of its partners.

This is how Edoardo Freddi, founder, comments on the past 12 months’ performance:

“2022 has been a very special year. We started off very charged, but tired, after a 2021 that ended with significant growth, but with several unknowns for the future”.

“The outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine brought uncertainty in many areas and accelerated an inflationary spiral that had already partly started in November 2021. In one year we had to witness the possible return of the Covid, the war, the logistical crisis and the resulting price increase. Despite all these adversities, 2022 closed on a positive note for Edoardo Freddi International”.

Demonstrating a development that does not intend to stop, in this early 2023, two new companies have been added to Edoardo Freddi International’s portfolio, which now numbers 43 wineries.

These are Borgoluce, a 1,000-hectare farm in the Treviso hills between Venice and the Dolomites, in the heart of Valdobbiadene, which boasts a long history behind it, linked to the territory with a focus on biodiversity, and Cantine Ariola, 70 hectares located in the Parma hills, between 200 and 300 metres above sea level.

The company’s declared objective for the coming months is to further increase the number of collaborations, with a particular focus on Tuscany, one of the regions with the most Denominations.

Generally speaking, in addition to expanding the portfolio, the work will be aimed at representing, especially on the foreign market, a selection of wineries producing labels of relevant importance, i.e. those fine wines that have made the history of Italian oenology and represent a unique tasting experience for connoisseurs and enthusiasts. For this project, a person will be employed as Fine Wines Specialist and Brand Activation, who will be responsible for managing the allocation and promotion of this category of wines in the various markets.

From a commercial point of view, Edoardo Freddi International’s 2023 goal will be the acquisition of 50 new customers: the most interesting and at the same time challenging markets, where the penetration strategy for the conquest of new quotas will be most concentrated, will be Eastern Europe and Russia, the United States, China and Africa, while Canada, Germany, Uk, Japan, Scandinavia and all of continental Europe.
